“As well as the scenery, the route is impressive for the way it allows visitors to connect with the landscape and the history of the region.”

Catalonia is far more than only the Costa Brava and Barcelona. There is still a remote part which is not so known amongst tourists. For sun tourists Catalonia stops with the Costa Brava, for mountain bikers it only begins there.  They have a lot of playground in the Pyrenees and the Pre-Pyrenees where they can cycle on paths full of grind and spectacular views. With a 4 day trip they want to test if the Pyrenees can compete with other mountain areas. The climbs are steep and the trip is like the guide promised them, hard. Alongside the national park ‘El Cadi-Moixero they drive through pine trees and mountain meadows. On the Coll de Jovell they really have to push themselves but the reward at the top is amazing. At that point, the sun comes through the clouds which reveal a beautiful landscape. On the second day, we cycled through the park with all the volcanos and the last day we arrived at the finish line to Roses.”

The writer highlights the beauty of the Catalan Pyrenees, a region to discover and experience. Besides, he gives some practical information about the mountain bikes centres in Catalonia.
