These fairs have been held for over 100 years in all the main villages of Val d’Aran to celebrate the tradition of bringing the livestock down from the mountains for winter stabling. The fairs are among the most popular annual events with both local people and visitors who flock in from the areas surrounding Val d'Aran.

The livestock fairs display the animals used by Aranese farmers, both today and in former times, and the event is complemented with a sale of local produce and related items.
